Yesterday Emma said that she wanted to make some money and asked how she could do that. So I told her that she has to work to earn money. She said, "I work everyday!" I told her that the chores she does around the house is part of being a family and that's not what we get paid for. She asked what kind of work she could do to make money. I told her that she could clean up the back yard. She said, "OKAY, I'll go right now." I had to tell her that she needed to finish her chores first, which she did very quickly! More so than usual anyway. Then she headed outside and picked up. She still has a couple more things to do but when I went out there to check on her she said, "Mom look, the sun is shining. I think the universe is happy that I'm cleaning up." I had to laugh she cracks me up. Yesterday I don't think we saw the sun at all, until then. It was 39 degrees and snowing off and on all day. Same thing with today so far. Cloudy, snowing and on the chilly side.
Tonight I'm teaching a sewing class for Enrichment and I'm doing this purse! Maybe I'll be able to get pictures of the ladies purses. That is if they get them finished and if we have anyone that wants to make them. The Relief Society Pres has been wanting me to teach a class for several months now. So this is it!!! I do a class tonight and tomorrow morning and I only have one pattern... Maybe I'll copy the pattern on old Christmas wrapping paper... Tacky but i don't have any butcher paper or anything! This should prove to be very interesting to say the least.

I think thats funny about the sun. And I think on christmas paper would show your resourseful and frugle, which is more of what we need. have fun, take pics.
Love her universe comment! :) I wish I were there, I would make one for sure! Have fun!
I want to take your class! Could you please post a pic of the pattern, I'm thinking that you just cut 8 of the same piece and 2 bottoms, but I'd like to try to copy it. Heehee!
I love that the Universe is happy with her! So cute!
Oh and wrapping paper, great idea! Way better than tissue paper, won't rip as easily.
These bags are really cute. I wish I knew how to do this sort of stuff. You are very talented! =)
Cute story, and good luck with your lesson tonight!
What a cute purse- I wish I could sew something.
I love days when the universe is happy :) That purse is fabulous! I'm sure it will be a hit tonight.
We don't pay our kids for the chores they are "expected" to do around our house either - but for extra stuff (like yard work) we do. That is a really cute purse. Have a good evening - see you - Kellan
HA too cute! gotta love a little extra help. money talks!
darn fabulous purses! good luck with your class! that is awesome!
Hey did you see my giveaway i'm hosting? come join! it's easy and you can't win if you don't play!
Wish I could attend that Enrichment class... sewing is NOT my forte, but I WISH it was. How cute would I look with a funky purse on my arm? LOL! I'd love some instructions or tips...
What a cute comment - aren't kids great?!?!
It's been unseasonably cold here too. Hmm??? Maybe the universe is in shock b/c my husband actually did our lawn ;)
Good luck teaching your class. I am sure it is going to be a great success. I love the purses. Wouldn't that be a fun project for me and my daughter. She could make them and give homemade birthday gifts to friends. What a plan. If you figure a way to give out the instructions we would love them too!
Today I sat through a 2 hour long soccer game in cold and snow. All I kept thinking was why is the universe hate me. hee hee
Kids are so funny!!! I love the universe comment! I also love those purses! Good luck on your class tonight, I'm sure you'll do great!
I need a little bit of Emma sunshine!! I love the way she thinks!!
I have the same conversation about jobs you do because you are part of a family and jobs you can do for money...it's a hard concept!!
happy universe... I like that comments. I sometimes use the words too. Once I felt so sad and I said: what is the universe doing?
taling about earning money, ibit wants to work as a waiter in a cafe or restaurant... oh.
She's so funny! I was going to crash your class last night but didn't get to. Hope it went well for you!
Hey there, new here.
We have REALLY benefited from the Love and Logic series about chores and allowances. We were 'paying' for chores before and it really never worked out. And after a bit of a leap O faith, we just pay the same allowance each week, and just 'expect' chores to get done...and it worked! So good luck. Turns out I have one spender and one saver!
I like those bags! they don't look all that easy to me? I'm impressed. Will everyone bring their own sewing machine in?
ha ah the universe is happy. Nice. Well you have a deep thinker there :)
Recycle and reuse is my motto. Did you use wrapping paper for the patterns? I think the purses turned out cute. Like you need one more thing to do. I bet you did a great job.
