Okay just a little update on Lane...
I fed the kids and while they were eating Lane scratched his head and it started bleeding again. So I took another look since most of blood was gone and I could see much better. It is way deeper than we originally thought. So I bundled up, well not really I just got their shoes on them and made sure they didn't look too white trashy, however they did a little, seeing that Olivia had white church shoes on with her turquoise shorts and yellow shirt. Eliza was fine just a little peanut butter on the cheek but I took care of that when I noticed at the hospital. Lane however had on shorts and the same yucky shirt that happens to be inside out... Oh well! So we all went for a little drive to the hospital. The nurse asked what happened and Eliza says, "I broke his head!" Nodding her own head up and down with a look saying dang it he just shouldn't have gotten in the way! The lady smiled and was trying not to laugh. So I said, "We don't hit do we Eliza." Eliza said, "No, I'm not never gonna do it again, neither." Eliza entertained us a little bit more and finally we got back to a room. The doctor came in and asked what happened and so I said, "Eliza why don't you tell the Dr what you did." Eliza said the same thing to him. Turns out it was very deep and so Lane is now sporting a metal head! 3 lovely staples in his poor little head. Before we left, the nurse (she was very nice) told Eliza, "Now we need to remember not to hit and give big owies like this." Eliza says, "I won't never do it again." Then the nurse told all the kids that only the Dr. gets to put staples in people's head and it's a special stapler not like what we have at home. Which needed saying and I had planned on having that little talk too. But sometimes it's better coming from some one else! Anyway it took maybe 45 minutes from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out. ONE FABULOUS THING ABOUT LIVING IN A SMALL TOWN!!! I had to show Lane his head and make sure he knew that he couldn't pull the staples out and stuff like that. So hopefully he listens! Now kids are all in bed except Olivia because she just informed me that she needed a diaper change. Oh yeah and the last 3 days have been beautiful and in the 70's today it's snowing and 39 degrees!!! Go figure!

Oh Man! Ouch! Good thing for the little lecture about not stapling one another in the head.
ouch! ok we have to stop saying the same thing. yikes! that had to hurt. and thank heavens it was a fast visit! too funny about what Eliza said. it's always better when they admit it. and way to go with the nurse clarifying the staple thing. that wouldn't be good to get out the old swingline and take care of it at home.by sisters. OUCH! and holy cow you are rocking on your scrap booking goal! you have a ton of time to finish the rest
we have had our share of medical in this family but NEVER staples. EWWWWW take care. What a day. Can they practice sitting like its church? no one can get hurt that way. I use to do that when I was married and had 5 kids, if they were out of control, we would line up some chairs and make someone the bishop or the music leader and play quiet church. I had to play but atleast it was a bit more quiet. Hugs sent your way
Oh my goodness..... It happens to the best of us!
Holy cow! I am sorry that it is at your expense, but that entire story made me laugh out loud (and seeing that I often read your blog and think that I can picture my kids doing the same thing, I am sure that you will have the favor returned in due time!) I am so glad that it wasn't worse, and hope that Eliza holds true to her word. And smart thinking of that nurse to explain the staples . . . Cooper would SO be the kid to pull out the stapler and go to town.
Ouchy!!!!
I know that hurt but I am glad he is going to be o.k.
It is a bad way to start off the week.
That's monday for you!! Hope the rest of the week is better. I'm so glad I only have to worry about a little throw up (Alana's sick). Poor Lane :(

Poor little Lane!! What a little trooper!! I love how your daughter felt remorse. She is such a crack up!! I am glad to hear that he is doing better!! I hope he has a speedy recovery!!
I love that we have so much in common!! You should do that tag!! I would love to see all the other things that we have in!!
Oh no! Sorry for a truly awful day! Hope he is on the mend soon and a lesson was learned.
I hope he has some nice pain medicine...man...I'm just hurting for him.
Sorry you started your week like this...
I just know my first trip to the ER is only a matter of time...
Poor little guy! And poor mommy too. It's not fun watching your kids go through something like this. Glad to hear you didn't have to hang out at the hospital all day. Hope tomorrow is better. Ü
Holy cow that looks like it hurt! Hopefully it will heal fast.

Poor guy! It's so hard to know when they need medical attention....that's one thing we haven't experienced at our house (stitches or staples). I hope he does OK with them.
crap - those just look like they hurt. The thought of someone stapling a head together just makes my stomach turn.
I'm officially queasy. I'm glad the nurse had the talk with the kids about staples AND that you got in and out of there so quickly. When do the staples come out?
Eli had to get staples, too. He only got two though. His bled a lot more, I think. His gash was on the back of his head and by the time I got to him, the whole back of his shirt was soaked and ripping blood.
So, you're saying I should definitely put the hand weights away.
Don't worry. It will heal quick and they will have a cool scar on their head. Every little boy's dream!
I meant dripping blood, and it will heal quickly.
Sometimes I just forget a letter :)
Eww! Sorry but the pictures of that is grossing me out.
POOR LANE!!!!!!!!!!I would have cried too
Those sisters are hard on him.
Staples in the head... Again, EWW!! Get better fast Lane!
Rachel
Oh my goodness!! How did he do with getting the staples?
Hope his head gets better soon....ouch!
OMG the poor wee thing - that looks sore!
All I can say is that it makes my butt pucker looking at those pictures.
YOWZA!!!!
O my heck!!! I am so sorry that happened. I can't believe you had to take all the kids with you. I am also very glad the nurse explained about the staples. I can so imagine what could have happened. Because I know what could happen here.
oh my goodness! I was wondering what had happened to Lane as I was catching up on your posts (reading from top to bottom). poor kid. wow, you don't ever get any rest do you.
Oh Ouch! that makes my stomach do flips...
