♥ Spiders & a quilt block...

Alright here it is... She was a little too aware of the camera so it wasn't as cute as it usually is!

LITTLE MISS SPIDER HERSELF.... OLIVIA

And speaking of spiders...

I was over at Jen's blog and she triggered my own spider incident from last weekend!!!

I'm so not a spider fan AT ALL! We have Hobo spiders here and I hate them... I try not to say hate but really HATE THEM!!!! There was a HUGE spider, seriously just looking at it sitting on the wall it was an inch and a half round! It's body at least the size of a jelly belly!
It was on Lane & Olivia's wall while we were cleaning up the other day and Joe was sleeping from a long night of studying for finals so I had to do it!!! BLECH!!!

I couldn't use a fly swatter because it's too flimsy plus the nasty thing was in the corner where the wall & ceiling meets! I wasn't about to use a piece of toilet paper because I would pass out if I actually had to feel the thing dying between my fingers! So I used a 4 foot 1 inch wide dowel and found that I was sufficiently far enough away to kill it!

It died and the kids all cheered... Literally they were saying, "You did it mommy, yayyyyy!" They don't like spiders either and I'm sure it's because I freak out but ewwww. I can deal with the little ones and not totally have a coronary but when they get to be half an inch or bigger... Can't handle it.

After it was all over Emma had to tell Joe what a wimp I was! I couldn't look at the pictures of the real ones, eeeewwwww... so this is what I found... It's cute for a spider cartoon!

And I have a new quilt block! I think we have one more to learn and then we're done... and I can put it together! I'm so excited!!!

I like how your block turned out. Your quilt is going to be really cute once you get all the blocks sewn together. Are we sewing the next one together? Had we made the decision to not go next week?

My sister called a neighbor one time to kill something at her house. So I don't think you are a wimp at all.
cute quilt block.

What a fun post! Love the spider cartoon. My hubby hates spiders so I have to be the brave one at our house. (It makes a great April Fools joke though, we put a fake spider in the shower and it gets him every time).

So great that you are learning lots of new quilting patterns. (I'll have to show my MIL this weekend)

Hobo spiders are mean nasty chasing hunter spiders! My sister calls them monsters! Another sister catches them in jars and hopes that someone else will dispose of it! I can smash them if they are not too big... I have been known to catch them and use the vac to get em!
