♥ Mending and other stuff...

Today has been catch up mending day!
This is my attempt at fixing my quilt that Lane decided to rip apart!

The front looks better than the back. It blends in a little better.
I circled some of the parts that I fixed in this picture!

I fixed a little hole in this sweater of Emma's...

These jeans of Emma's were beyond help so I made them into shorts.

Lane decided it would be fun to cut his pants! It's a crappy fix it job but there was no good way to fix them. So they'll be play at home pants.
Easy fix it! Love those! Just a popped seam!

These pants were easier to fix but still a pain... I have a hard time with the skinny long legs fitting on my sewing machine!

I also fixed one of Eliza's shirts and a Raggedy Ann doll that the kids took the head off of!
And this is my first official quilt... I have done a jean quilt but that was just squares all put together and then I attempted a pin wheel quilt here and it was such a pain. It's amazing how nice it can be when you have an actual patter and sizes to make a quilt. It makes it FUN! :)
Tonight I went to a knitting class and I was the YOUNGEST one there!!!! It was fun listening to the ladies talk about stuff! I'm making a pair of mittens... I'll post a picture later when I'm a little closer to being done. They're pretty small and I'm not sure if they'll even fit Livvy!!! But we shall see! I then went to the store to get milk!
I guess that about sums up my day.

YOU ROCK!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your new quilt you made. It is So fabulous!!!

Mending... I can't do that. Seriously. I am AWFUL. Michael actually does that for our family. His looks so professional. Mine looks like a 3 yr old tried to do it. The kids know this so if anything needs mending, they take it directly to dad. He even does the Scout patches on the vests!! I've accepted that mending is not my thing. We all have different talents. And you ROCK!

I am going to my first knitting club tonight. I was envisioning little old ladies sitting around. From what you said, I will probably be right!!!

You got alot done in one day. Great job on the mending. And wonderful on your quilt. I wish I wanted to do it. My sister and I put a quilt together, we laughed our butts off.

Holy Crap you can do EVERYTHING!!! I'm so impressed & very envious! That is so cool. My mending goes into a pile labeled "grandma" & she has to fix it for me. I suck!!
The quilt is great, good job!! I can't wait to see the mittens!!

All of it looks great! I am very impressed with your sewing skills . . . I can't wait until the kids are old enough to give me a little time to learn how to use my machine.

You are fabulous! I should be more like you. If something needs mended, I usually just take it to the thrift store...that's bad.

Good job on attacking that mending! I should do mine before people start out-growing everything I haven't hemmed yet.

I started a quilt last summer, started being the key word here.

And knitting - never warmed to it, it takes me sooooo long that it hasn't become fun for me YET. I keep trying though. By that I mean that I keep buying yarn and needles - I figure if I get big enough needles, someday I may actually finish something.

Crochet, however, I really enjoy.

I am embarrassed to say that I don't even know how to use a sewing machine!

The end table I am in the middle of refinishing is where my mending is kept. Now it is staring me in the face. I will have to follow your good example and do the same.
Good job.
