♥ Cleaning and more cleaning...

I woke up this morning too... 1 container of Cloreseptic, 2 bottles or sprinkles and 1 bottle of Excedrin Migraine dumped all over Emma's bedroom floor! The culprit..... tada..... LANE!!! He climbed up into our medicine/spice cabinet in the kitchen and helped himself! The scariest part was when he brought me 2 matches!!! I will be hiding them in an even better spot now. Luckily he doesn't have any idea how to use them yet but still!
Last weekend was clean up Lane & Livvy's room, which has been kept clean ALLL WEEEEKKK!!! Happy day! We've been making them clean it up before bed every night. It has been working marvelously! Now I just need to keep it up. This weekend was clean up Emma & Eliza's bedroom. HOLY COW!!! Luckily I had cleaned up 1/2 of it last weekend so I didn't have much to clean up this weekend. It was funny because Joe was taking some stuff out to the garbage and said, "I only saw one bag of garbage! That's crazy I thought there would be more." So I had to tell him that last weekend I cleaned up most of the garbage and had taken 3 garbage sacks full of garbage then... :) Who would have thought that 4 kids could create so much CRAP! My next projects through out the week will be deep cleaning of both bathrooms, de-cluttering of the front room. It's mostly clean. And then TONS of laundry. Every time I clean up Emma's room I have an extra 3 or 4 loads of laundry! YUCK!
Last night I made Chicken & Dumplings! This was my first attempt at it and I was surprised that it turned out really good! I decided to just cook up the whole bag of chicken, so I could put it in the fridge for dinner tonight! It worked great. It took me all of 10 minutes to put dinner together tonight with was Sour Cream Enchiladas! SO EASY! The suckiest part of cooking for me is having to do the meat. Especially chicken. So having it already done was a bonus. The Chicken & Dumplings were so EASY to make!!! Here's a picture and the recipe...
Quick Chicken and Dumplings
Betty Crocker
Prep Time:10 min
Start to Finish:30 min
Makes: 4 servings

1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup frozen green peas and carrots
1 cup cut-up cooked chicken
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed creamy chicken mushroom soup
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/3 cup milk
Paprika, if desired

1. Heat 1 1/2 cups milk, the peas and carrots, chicken and soup to boiling in 3-quart saucepan, stirring frequently.
2. Stir Bisquick mix and 1/3 cup milk until soft dough forms. Drop dough by 8 spoonfuls onto chicken mixture (do not drop directly into liquid). Sprinkle with paprika. (When I made mine there was no way NOT to drop them directly into the liquid so I just did it anyway and it turned out GREAT so no worries if you can't avoid the liquid)
3. Cook uncovered over low heat 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft) No changes.

Sounds yummy, I'll have to try it.

Gotta love kids that make messes out of dangerous substances. I have one of those kind too.

Blessings,
Jen

I know kids can create that much crap. The fingernail polish did come out. I cut it short first, then had to borrow some nailpolish remover from a friend & scrub his head with it. His scalp was still purple for about a week. Kids.
The chicken & dumplings look delicious I'll have to try them out.

Good for you, having them help clean. I think kids should learn to do their part.

The dumplings look yummy!

Now I know why you deep cleaned the kids rooms! I have to admit one nice thing about showing the house is we have kept up on the clutter.

This week I am going to touch up some paint. I don't want to repaint the whole house, so touch up will have to do.

GOOD LUCK with your projects and hopefully the market is better where you live.

I have learned I like to cook my meat all at once too. Makes it so much faster to throw recipes together. I especially hate cutting up chicken. Looks YUMMMY!!

Sounds like you might need a locking cabinet to keep him out! I hate cleaning kids rooms, I wish I could convince my kids {all of them, especially the older ones} how easy it would be IF they just picked up each night! I get crazy and go in and start dragging crap out from under the beds and it's a 3-4 day job many bags of trash! Robby is my one who cleans his daily I love that I at least have one! :)
