♥ Dinner & Wacky Hair!!!

These are some pictures of Olivia she was just hanging out being silly. I started off wanting to take a picture of her hair but then forgot why I was taking the pictures. So you can't even really see her hair but it was in piggy buns! :)

Yesterday we had Celebration Salad for dinner and homemade rolls. Another recipe that my mom made for us growing up. I love it. It has a bunch of contrasting flavors but is so good. The kids all love it as well.

Celebration Chicken Fruit Salad
4 cups (12oz) uncooked large shell macaroni
6 cups cubed cooked chicken
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cups mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup slivered almonds, toasted
1 1/2 cups whipping cream, whipped
1 tsp. salt
3 cups sliced celery
3 cups green grapes
2 cups mayonnaise
Cook macaroni to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; rinse with cold water. In very large bowl, combine all ingredients except whipping cream. Cover; refrigerate 3 hours to blend flavors. Just before serving, fold in whipped cream. Serves 20 (1-cup) servings.
♥ To toast almonds, spread almonds evenly on cookie sheet; bake at 375 degrees for 5-10 minutes. Until light golden brown. The flavor is really enhanced by toasting the almonds. It tastes MUCH better if it's done! :) I choose not to use celery it's just not my favorite and I don't care for onions either so I leave them out as well. But I still like it when my mom makes it with them... Weird I know!
The rolls are just the Amish white bread that I make...

Olivia was carrying her baby around like this for a good 1/2 hour. I thought it was cute!

Emma had her hair in piggy buns too for church and so we just took them out and put them back in for Mon & Tue. She took them out today and this is what happened! Joe knew I'd want pictures so took them for me while I was quilting! Tomorrow I'll post my last 2 blocks that we've done!

That is THE weirdest sounding salad I've ever heard of - hands down.

Chicken and whipped cream. I might have to try that one out.

Those rolls look wonderful. I went through your recipe label and got several new things to try.

I love the name of the salad! I think I need to start calling things that I make Celebration Whatever I cooked so that my kids think it's special. Maybe then they'd eat it...

LOVE the Olivia pictures. Your kids are adorable!

Try that same salad, but instead of adding the cream, try adding Brianna's brand poppy seed salad dressing. It's too die for. It's my favorite dinner to make in the hot summertime!
