Okay maybe we still have a couple of leaves but not like before. Joe started working on the leaf project at about noon and then I started helping at about 2pm. It took longer than we thought. I finally came in at about 7pm. From about 4 to 5:30 I was in the house with the kids getting them bathed and ready for bed. They were beyond filthy. They had been playing outside ALL day long. It was beautiful here today. Eliza found the old baby pool out by the dried up garden with water in it. But it wasn't just water, there was also MUD... We have little play dishes out side in their little kitchen thing and Eliza took one of the cups and was pouring the NASTY muddy water all over her head. O's feet were BLACK from mud. She had on her crocks so her feet were disgusting. Lane was the cleanest of all of them. I was in the process of putting all of our stuff away in the shed when Eliza started towards me with the gasoline container and I was going to tell her to put it back but she was doing a great job so I stepped back to make way for her and I stepped on a gallon milk jug FULLLLLLLLLL of OIL! J had put oil in there after he did an oil change on the car and it sprayed like OLD FAITHFUL. It squirted me all up my back side luckily missing my shirt but started just below my butt and then started dripping down my legs. SOOOOOOO DISGUSTING!!!!! At first I didn't even realize what I had done. I thought I'd just stepped on an uneven part of the ground until I felt cold liquid start to run down my leg. I had on sweats and they're really big on me so I didn't feel it for several seconds but seriously when it started seeping through oohhhhhh I was so mad. I kept saying NO WAY NO WAY. Do you even know how hard it is to get engine oil off of yourself. I had to shed my britches on the front porch. Luckily it was dark outside but really very disturbing for me. I am a very discreet person not into the whole flashing for fun stuff but with no other choice... So on to the no leaves. Refer to my other POST you'll see how many leaves we had before the clean up project and we're still not quite finished we still have to do the gutters and then we'll be done.
We still have a couple of leaves floating around but it was windy off and on so it would blow them around before we had a chance to pick them up and then blow other peoples into our yard as well. I figured we could be there for the rest of the month trying to get them all so I figured once I went by a place that was it...

That's nice that you can dump yard debris for free! Our leave pick up is almost done, too. Oh boy, I would have been steaming about the engine oil......it was gorgeous here yesterday, too.
Holy cow, you had quite the day. I can't believe how much work you guys had to do.
I think stepping in the oil would probably have sent me over the edge, too.
I guess I should be thankful we have no trees here, no raking for us. Remind me about this in a few years when I'm moaning about having to rake!!
Holy Crap sounds like NOT a fun time. Oh the oil... YUCK!! Glad you got your leaves picked up though. Enjoy conference!

Oh sorry but I did have to laugh! I know the clean up must have been terrible, but, well, ya know call em as I see em!
When my little brother and sister were very young, they got into a tub of used iol and painted themselves and everything within reach! My mom was not a happy camper that day, but it was funny!
