Just to set this up... Lane & Olivia decided that they didn't want to take naps today. I went in 3 times and told them to go to sleep. Even bribing them with a sticker if they stayed in bed and went to sleep! Well 2 hours later they still hadn't gone to bed. I heard them messing around and decided that they could just hang out in there for a while until Eliza woke up so they wouldn't wake her up.
Then I hear this SCREAMING, blood curdling screams from Olivia. So I run into their bedroom but the screams AREN'T coming from their room. It sounds like they're coming from downstairs. So I open their door anyway and there's no one in there. Weird because they can't open the door on their own because it's broken. Then I notice the WINDOW is open. Yes, Lane pushed the screen out and escaped. Then brought the pool ladder over to the window so that Olivia could get out too. They both had bare feet. I'm not sure how long they were out there and they were freezing and that would be why Olivia was freaking out. Scared me and scares me to death. I can't believe that he did this. We had a long talk (well long for a 2 & 3 year old) about how it's not safe for them to be outside without mommy knowing.
All I have to say is the ladder will now be in the shed.
And on a "funner" and I use that word with all the sarcasm that I can muster. Our front bathroom was over flowing just now. At least an inch of water all over the floor and it started leaking onto the carpet in the hall. So now I have 2 loads of nasty wet toilet water laundry to wash. Disgusting and let me tell you there is nothing like walking in toilet water with no shoes on and just knowing what could be in there. EWWW! Tomorrow better be a good day. i don't know how many more days I can handle like this.

Wow! You are not having a good week! I am so sorry. Hopefully you will have a better rest of the week. Oh and you talk to Brother Walker about setting up the baptism and all that good stuff.

Good gravy, girl!! You need a spa day to make up for all of that craziness!! :)
Hang in there!
Holy crap! I cannot read stuff like that without totally being scared. I hope they give you some peace tomorrow and the next day and the next day. You are going to need a week to recover from this. How high is their room from the ground? If my girls got out their window they would be toast. Excuse while I go check our window locks please! ((HUGS))
Wow, You need calgone to take you away, litterally. Hope tomorrow brings sunshine in more ways than one.
Oh, oh, OH, EWW!! I HATE getting my feet wet like that for whatever reason...but toilet water!?!?! YIKES!
How scary!! Can't imagine what my reaction would've been. Glad they're ok...
oh my gosh!!! wow - talk about giving you a near-heart attack!!!! I agree with a previous poster - you def. need a spa day!!
I was surprised about the mercury/cfb thing too - I saw it on cnn this morning!
Our blog is mostly for updating our family and friends (who all live in another state), and I had just been talking about how much money they save us on energy in one of our previous posts, so i did want to post that link... They do save us tons of money, but I will think twice now about getting a lamp, you know?
Hope the day gets better!

Very frustrating! I hate it when my son doesn't take a nap. Very draining for me. That is really scary to find them outside. I would have freaked too!!
Yuck. Sorry for your crappy day! I would have WIGGED OUT if I found my kids escaped with cold feet. Isaac did that once at about 11 at night and I didn't recover for weeks!
hang in there!!
oh, wow, I can't believe they crawled out the window. Good thing you caught them before they got too far. what a pain about your bathroom. ick. sorry you have to deal with that.
Oh My Gosh! I wouls have been freaking! Thankfully my kids can not get the windows open-- they require holding down two leavers while lifting up it's hard for me!
Ewwww! on the flooded bathroom!
You had quite a day!
Oh Melissa... you need a BREAK! I hope you get one this weekend.
