I just got back from working out and Joe told me that Mitt Romney has decided to stand aside! I'm not much on politics but I have to say that my heart sank. I know there are a lot of views out there but his speech was wonderful. Even if you weren't going to vote for him you should check his speach out. It says a lot about the man that he is! I believe that one should vote for the person that they believe is going to do the best for this country and that has similar ethics, standards, morals and other such beliefs... I don't think that we should vote for someone just because they're democrat or replublican or becaue they have the same religious beliefs... However if Mitt Romney was still in the running I have to say I would be voting for him. Not because he belongs to the same church as me but because of what he's done in the past and what kind of man he has shown himself to be! Just a little food for thought and check out that video. It really is GOOD!

i know i was so sad to hear that today too.
♥your new blog look! way cute!
I was disappointed in this decision too. The only good thing would be if McCain picked him as VP. I could go for that.
I would suspect the reason he stepped aside was because he was trailing so far behind McCain and McCain is worried about his detractors...it's going to be an interesting election...
The last thing I had heard was that McCain had 4.7 million and Romney had 4 million however also the states that McCain does have are more electorial votes! I HATE politics... Drives me looney...
I was almost cried when I read that Rommney was suspending his campaign. Literally.
I hate that he stepped down too. I am really mad because my state has not even voted yet and I feel like I do not get a say in who will be elected. Almost everyone has dropped out before getting to me.
The speech was amazing! I almost cried too and I don't even want to see how upset my husband is about it. We were really big supporters. What is going to happen when family values are the last thing the candidates care about?
Plus he had already spent 35 million of his own money. At this point I think it's best just to go for broke.
I vote for one I thing is best among 'I don't know how they really are'.
I think not voting means irresponsible for what the country is going to be.
♥ We haven't been able to vote yet either! Sucks... But I can understnad why he did it. I thought he explained that really well in his speech! I'm with you Latree I think it's irresponsible not to vote too... :)
I was a little bummed to hear he dropped out. I didn't think he was going to win, but it would have been fun to see him try. i would have been voting for him as well. Not just because we belong to the same church either, just seems like the better choice.
I completely agree with you! I was so sad to hear that this morning! I was a HUGE fan of his! Thanks for posting his speech!
I haven't heard his speech yet, but I've heard a lot of people saying it was good. I was in the South at the time, and he's not taken very seriously there, so other than a CNN ticker & some analyst commentary, they didn't show a lot of what he had to say.
However, I'm with you on voting, considering of course that people do often say one thing and then vote with their party later. I forgot to check which party when I registered to vote here, so I'm "unaffiliated" (not even independent!) and while it wasn't purposeful, I think I like having that standpoint. The other alternative would be to register as whatever you aren't and vote in the primaries for the least damaging person...
It was so nice to just read this post. I was just checking out your blog and some of you older posts. It made me so happy to read this one as I do not know too many people (other than family members) who felt the same way. I was so sad when he stepped down. I had so much hope that he would steer this country in the right direction! I agree - his speech was amazing!
Now that Romney has bowed out, I say we vote Sheri Dew for US President!
