♥ CRAPPY KENMORE & VISTA

***WARNING*** This is a long post and there is some ranting!!!

Today was a crappy day!!! This morning I did a load of dishes and started the cycle and everything was fine until I heard the part where the water sprays everything being weird. It wasn't as usual! It would spray for 1 second and STOP, then wait a second and then spray for 1 second and STOP!!! It did this several times. So I opened the dishwasher and made sure everything was fine. No knives/forks or anything sticking down to stop the spinner thing (Don't you love my descriptions, I don't know the technical terms, my husband is probably cringing as he's reading this post, but what can I say I'm not mechanically minded). So nothing was amiss that I could tell. So I woke Joe up and told him to come check it out. He fiddled with it for several hours. Cleaned the motor thing did a bunch of stuff to make sure everything was fine and then finally found a switch and bypassed it to see if that was the problem and it was!

While Joe was working on this I was trying to figure out why my stupid computer wasn't working!!! My DVD-ROM quit working! Lovely so I spent 1 & 1/2 hours on the phone with the customer service people and it turns out that there is NOTHING they can do so they're sending us a new one! I'm very grateful for this and it's not costing us anything. So after we got this thing fixes the lady asked if there were any other problems! So then I started rambling my list:

♥ 1. My sidebar doesn't work anymore! Every time I turn on the computer it pops these errors up, 2 to be exact.
♥ 2. Internet Options won't let me there. I click but it doesn't respond.
♥ 3. Security Center does the same thing as Internet options.
♥ 4. My mouse and keyboard won't let me do certain things that it's supposed to do. Like the all loved double click on the scroll button!
♥ 5. My mouse decides that it doesn't want to let go when I'm dragging across something. Either with copy and pasting or when I'm trying to drag a picture over to my photoshop! It's holds onto it until I click again to get it to let go!!!

I mean seriously can I be any more irritated or irritating, for her! I was so not happy about all of this. Well she tells me that I'm going to have to do a system recovery and that if I want too I'll need to back up all my files so I don't loose them! HOW CAN I BACK UP MY FILES WHEN MY DVD ROM DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!! I didn't say that mean to her. She was GREAT! I seriously was very pleased with her. I had a hard time understanding her a couple of times because she had a pretty thick accent. BUT when she asked me if my operating system was Vista I said, "Oh yes it's vista and I HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE vista!!!" She started laughing. The "Oh yeah I've heard that a ton of times" type of laugh! So I no longer have a bunch of my pictures besides the ones that I posted on my blog. All of my recipe's are gone at least the new ones. I had backup up my files just before Christmas. I'm just so grateful that all I lost was 2 months instead of 3 years! So great it's fixed at least all of the errors and now I'm waiting for my DVD ROM to get here so I can call my awesome brother in law Steve who is fab with computers, so he can walk me through wiping out Stinking Retarded VISTA and putting XP on my computer!

So back to Joe: Once he bypassed the switch it started working. HOWEVER and a big however at that. Stupid Kenmore doesn't make just a simple switch to swap out you have to buy a whole new motor which is almost the same price of a new dishwasher! I was so not happy. So we went out and got a great deal on a new one. $100 bucks cheaper than Sears and not a KENMORE!!! I heard that Kenmore no longer makes their stuff, they contract it out to the company who can give them the best deal. So sometimes that's Frigidaire and sometimes GE and sometimes WHO KNOWS WHO!!!! So needless to say we did not buy a KENMORE again. Back in the day Kenmore was top of the line. I have washer/dryer that is Kenmore and they're 12 years old. The dryer finally died last year so we had to get a new one but at least it was 12 years old and nothing ever went wrong with it.

Of course there was that time when I tried to install it for the first time into my little tiny apartment and it leaked all over EVERYTHING. Because I didn't do it right and my dad had to come over and fix it for me. Then our Kenmore fridge died 6 months after the warranty went out on it! I was so ticked! Luckily my husband is mechanically smart and figured it out and it only cost us 30 bucks or so for a little part and it was fixed. Oh, and our ice maker went out (2 months after said warranty) and it still doesn't work! We can't figure that one out I think we're going to have to get a whole new ice maker motor thing. We bought a Kenmore microwave about 4 years ago and knock on wood it hasn't died yet. So this is our new dishwasher it's not top of the line but it's not a piece of crap either and it's not really something I wanted to be spending money on right now. I suppose I could have washed all the dishes by hand but really, that takes FOREVER and we go through so many dishes a day it's crazy and I can't afford to just go buy paper everything. I'd end up spending more than I would for the dishwasher!

Joe spent all day working on the old one or putting in the new one! He was "supposed" to go over to a fellow nursing students place to work on their big project for Monday but ended up spending all his time here. He finally left the house at 9 PM (by the time we got kids showered for church and in bed)... His big irritation was speeding all that time figuring out what was wrong and knowing that if this had been a different brand we could have bought that switch for 16 bucks because most of the motors have a removable switch. Well not the Kenmore! So this is our new dishwasher!!! It's very nice it has the turn thing on the bottom and the top and no box in the middle that you have to be careful not to cover up like our old one! I did notice that it's not as tall as our old one. So now I'll have to wash my cookie sheets by hand. Dang it! :)

Do they even really understand that we'd pay a little extra just to get a good product. I mean really Kenmore is the only brand we have (had) in our house!

Alright my rant on CRAPPY KENMORE is over! Thanks for listening. I'm hoping tomorrow is much better and I suppose since it's 11:30pm I should probably finish my lesson for Relief Society tomorrow.

My voice is shot though. I have some weird thing going on where I don't FEEL sick but my voice is going. This morning I woke up and could hardly talk.

Eliza asked if my voice went away.
Me: yes, it's gone.
Eliza: Did I take it?
Me: yes and you better give it back!
(she gives me a funny look and holds her hand out like she's giving it back so I pretend to put it back in my mouth)
Eliza: Did it work? (I try to talk)
Me: Nope!
Eliza: Oh!!! Your voice is all gone!!!

She's so funny! And can I just say how much I love SPELL CHECK!!! :)
