Eliza has a cough and it's not so bad during the day but at night or nap time when she's lying down she starts hacking big time. So last night just before bed I gave her some medicine. She didn't care for the taste at all but it seemed to help. Then around 12:30 am she was starting to cough again so I went in to give her some more. She did NOT want to have the yucky tasting medicine again. I tried all kinds of things; Asking her if she wanted daddy to give it to her? ... NO; Should we do it on the count of 5?... NO; Finally... Would she like to do it? She looks at me and says, "I can give it to YOU???" Me laughing, "No. You give it to yourself!" "Oh!" She says. Finally she says okay you can give it to me. After I give it to her she says high pitched and happy again, "Oh! That wasn't so bad!!!!"

Ok...I KNOW this sounds strange...but when my son, Kevin had a horrible cough a few weeks ago, I put Vicks Vapo-Rub on the bottom of his feet at night and then put socks on him. I had received an email about this in the past and thought, "what the heck, I'll try it"...and by golly...it works! Try that and see if it works for her too. Good luck with that! I also feel your pain about yucky medicine being. Kevin just smells it and if it smells yucky, his lips are tightly sealed! Have a good day! :)
LOL! Wouldn't it be so much easier if we could just take the medicine for our kids...;)
We moved on to the strip meds...Hope refuses to do liquid of any kind. She just throws them right back up..nice, huh?
I was going to tell you to try the same thing Laura recommended. I haven't ever tried it, but I heard it works! Good luck.
we have used the vicks also on their feet with socks. so far so good its worked everytime, even on myself but we have only done it about 5 or 6 times so what are the chances it didnt work just didnt cough that night???? so who knows?
That's funny. I hate when they have coughs. I really miss those vapor patches they took off the market. Those were the only things that helped my kids when they were really little.
Ibit is having cough too. why do I feel kids never stop having this and that sickness?
