8 years ago I was living with my parents while Joe was in Montana working at a new job. We moved all of our stuff up there a month before I was supposed to have Emma. That was the longest trip ever. I had to cut the sides of my shoes just to get them to fit because my feet had swelled up so much from sitting so long.
Our house in Montana (can you see my ankles?)
My mom came with us so she could baby sit me! :) I was staying in Oregon so that I could have insurance from my job. I was working at State Farm as an agent/office manager. My due date was June 10th but I figured with "my calculations" that I would have the baby on June 5th! I have to say that I was right! I worked on Friday June 3rd and then on June 4th I started having contractions. They started during Church. On a side note it wasn't too much of surprise that I did the same thing with Olivia! :)
At first I wasn't sure that's what I was having. So when we got home from church I called my sister Alisha to make sure that's what they were! They started out at 1-1/2 minutes apart from the beginning so I wasn't quite sure when I should actually go into the hospital. In our "class" they said to go to the hospital when the contractions where 5 minutes apart!
I finally went to the hospital around 5ish I think! My mom came with me which was nice since Joe wasn't there. I did call Joe earlier so that he could get a flight and come back to Oregon... To make a horrible (for me) labor short... I had non-stop contractions and I'm not talking the easy stuff either, for 12 hours! It was terrible. I finally said forget it and I wanted an epidural. I was kicking myself after I got it. I wished I had gotten it when I first got there! I was stuck at a 2 for that whole 12 hours. After the epidural I slept for 4 hours and when I woke up I was at an 8 and 1/2 hour later I was ready to push!
Joe called before I got the epidural and was a little scared! I kept contracting the whole time I was talking to him and when he told me to breathe I sort of bit his head off and wasn't very nice. It was the contractions talking I promise! When he called back and told me that he was at the airport and delayed for a little while I had already had the epidural and slept my non-stop 4 hours. I was in HEAVEN! He could tell! I was nice and telling him what was happening... which was that I was ready to push right then. Emma was born at 8:24 am and Joe got there around noon. She was 7lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. For a first baby she was pretty easy as far as the pushing went. 20 minutes of pushing and she was here. Not that I really cared I couldn't feel a thing!!! :)

Set me straight, was Joe missing for Emma's AND the twin's births? All of them?? How crazy that must have been!! :)
I have short term memory, was Joe there for any of the births? I guess I just cant remember Olivia.
Great birthstory, I love the 7 year old smile.

Happy Birthday Emmma! I enjoyed seeing all the pictures. They grow up SO fast!
now you've really scared me. I think I'll tell the anesthesiologist to meet me in the parking lot of the hospital and give me the epidural right then!
She is just a doll.
Before you know it she'll be driving & dating!
Make sure Joe has a new shot gun!!!
Cute pics! I love hearing labor and delivery stories. It's one thing a mom never forgets. And I'm all about the epidural!

God bless the epidural! What a sweet girl~ happy b-day!...congrats to you, too!
I can't imagine you biting anyone's head off. You are always so calm. Wow, 12 hours of contractions before getting the epidural. I was such a woose..as soon as I got to the hospital I asked for an epidural.
I really like that picture of Emma right after her hair cut. She has a cute expression.
wonderful memories!
SEE YOU SOON!!!!

Happy birthday Emma!!! Has Joe ever been there when you had a baby? I am pretty sure I read another story where he wasn't there. Maybe I am imagining things. Epidurals are a beautiful thing.
