A little bit of craftiness...

I'm actually having a hard time coming up with something to blog about. My brain is on lock down or something. So this is as good as it gets. A little bit of craftiness! I really want to scrapbook but I'm not letting myself until I get the kids Christmas Jammie's made and I'm really not enthusiastic about it. The sewing part isn't bad but I HATE cutting out the fabric. Last January I made 5 brides made dresses, one flower girl dress for Emma, one dress for Eliza, a vest and tie for Lane and a dress for Olivia & my niece Makensi. So I pretty much have been not in the sewing mood for the past 10 months. My first sewing endeavor after that were the purses that I made for the bazaar! Here are some pictures of the dresses that I made! I looked forever trying to find my other pictures but couldn't so this is as good as it gets!!! This first one is Eliza's she walked down the aisle with Lane they were joint conspirators. Lane held the ring pillow. As it was their turn to walk Eliza was AWOL so Lane had to go by himself and then after everyone else had walked here comes Eliza jaunting down the aisle with her arm swinging really high and she was just looking right and left at all the people with a big old grin on her face. Until she finally got to the end. Then half way through the ceremony Lane & Eliza decide that they are really bored and sit down at my feet. Then Lane grabs down his pants and I'm thinking what the crap are you doing. He searches for a while and then pulls out a toy that he'd hidden. Very lovely. Joe's mom and dad were laughing. I couldn't not smile but I couldn't just reach down and grab them or the toy because he would have freaked and then that surely would have ruined Heidi's wedding. Heidi is Joe's sister by the way! It was really very funny and luckily I don't think Heidi really noticed the Lane digging in his pants ordeal...

I had finished Lanes just before bed so he got to try it on over his jammies. It's very stylish isn't it!

The flower girl dress and brides maid's dresses were all made out of the same satin material except they were the ribbon lavender color that's on Eliza's dress. I was so lucky that there was only minimal altering for the dresses. Especially since everyone lived at least 400 or more miles away from me! So there was definitely no opportunity for fittings until the day before the wedding. Oh and I also helped Joe's Mom with the top for her dress. Such a fun and crazy sewing time!!!

I admire those like you that can sew.

Holy cow, that would pretty much burn me out for sewing, too. Come on, just safety pinning Grinch pants wore me out. If I had done all that sewing I would have reached my sewing quota for life.
You did a tremendous job on the dresses. I love that you were willing to take that on.

Your sign is so cute! And I still think your nuts for sewing all that stuff. But then again your so good!
Hey are we still on for Mexican food here real shortly? The Flautas are calling my name.

Eliza really look like a cinderella this time, so pwitty....
But I'm afraid Lane would have a little problem to breathe, that tie looks too tight on his neck!
You always amaze me with what your hands can do...

You are amazing! I can't even sew straight lines for curtains. How do you get all these things done with twins? Does it get better when they are a little older? Mine are 15 months and I cannot get anything done unless the older kids are here to watch them.

I only sew and craft mostly when kids are sleeping. I go crazy if I don't wait...

As for the getting better with time... For me not so much. They've gotten worse because they aren't easily contained in one area and they are able to get up to any level. So for me it's sucks but I hope for others that it's not so bad. I think it'll get better when they're 5!!! It's a horrible realization for me. Somedays I don't think they or I, are going to make it another year and a half!!! :)
