170th POST

Okay so I figure by the time I actually get to my 200th post maybe I'll have enough Random Facts! So here are my first 50!Random things:

1. I was born at home on the floor. My mom was home alone with my older sister and brother. She knew she was in labor but didn’t have a car and my dad was at work. She tried to get a hold of my dad with no luck, put my sis & bro down for a nap and then waited. She decided there was no stopping the inevitable and had me at home ALL by herself (what a lady, I would have been scared to death) clamped the cord and called 911. My dad showed up I think she said about 10-20 minutes after I was born and she was just on her way to the hospital.

2. I love most of Fergie’s songs. My favorites are Fergelicious(edited), Big Girls Don’t Cry and Clumsy.

3. I also like Celine Dion and a bunch of others.

4. When we were young my brother, his friend, my little sister and I went behind my dad’s shop and smoked hay. Yes HAY like the hay that cows eat. My sister smoked it a little too far down because she sinnged her eye brows. We thought we were going to be BUSTED big time. I ran in the house with her and we scrubbed her brows but to no avail we couldn’t get them to look right. Luckily my parents never found out. When we told my mom only a couple of months ago, we could see her cringe! And I’m sure she wonders how we survived and I wonder how she survived us!!!

5. My older sister and I used to stay up ALL NIGHT playing card games. Some nights we read until the early morning.

6. A drunken 60 year old man ran a red light and broad sided me, left the scene and turned around in a grocery store parking lot and drove up behind me and rear ended me and left the scene AGAIN!!! The DA never prosecuted because he might have had a “slight concussion”, but obviously not slight enough because he was able to turn around and rear end me! Go figure… I broke by leg, bashed my head and totaled my little sister’s car. I was only visiting home for the holidays. I ended up staying in Oregon instead of going back to SLC.

7. A funny thing about the accident my brother and sister-in-law drove past the accident and recognized my sister’s car and thought it was her that had been in the accident but found me instead. When I looked out the car window and saw him. I thought I was going crazy. I told him I think I broke my leg and he said, “no you didn’t, you’re fine but we’re trying to find the jack*** that rammed into you. “ He’s the one who told me the same guy hit me twice. I was in the paper and everything. I kept trying to tell him that my leg was broken but he pretty much ignored me…

8. As a result of staying in OR I met my husband a couple of couple of years later.

9. I was an agent at State Farm for 3 years. I went into labor with Emma on Sunday and called in on Monday saying that I wasn’t coming in, ever again. Actually they knew as soon as I had her I was DONE… My license has expired, since… which is sad…

10. I loved my job but although I got tired of the cranky people that would call and freak out! Loved the loyal customers that made working there so much fun.

11. About a year ago I slipped on one of the kids books and broke my toe. Then to add insult to injury I moved my foot over when I was doing dishes and didn’t realize I was so close to the cupboard and I banged my foot into the edge of cupboard. I thought I was going to die...

12. When Emma was 9 months old we lived in a quadplex. We didn’t know very many people there and one day I went out to get the mail and took Emma with me. I stepped off of the curb and landed weird on my foot and fell breaking my ankle. Actually my tibia bone poked out and scraped the asphalt. Nasty I know. Every time I step off of a curb I hear that sound. I was holding Emma when I fell so I twisted myself so she’d land on me and not get hurt. Then set her down beside me and started freaking out. I was looking around trying to figure out what to do and see if anyone was around. I tried calling for Joe he was in the house but it was about 20 yards away or so and he couldn’t hear me. Finally a neighbor came out of her house and saw me and I asked her if she could help me for a minute and she totally blew me off… She said, I can’t I’m late getting my kid from school. I was like what the… Dude I’m sitting her with my foot dangling and bleeding all over and all I needed was for her to knock on the door and get my husband. She left in her car with me sitting on the side of the road with my 9 month old baby. Another neighbor came out of their house and saw me. She came over and was so sweet. She went and got Joe for me and we went to the hospital. My mother-in-law came and stayed with us for 3 weeks and helped me with the baby since I couldn’t do anything and had to keep my leg elevated all the time. My mom helped me when she had to leave. It was so nice to live in the same town as my parents at that time. I had a couple of good friends say that I should bake some lovely Chocolate Chip Cookies laced with x-lax over to the rude lady…

13. I wish I could use clichés and I try but then get ½ way through saying one and then mess it up. I quit trying to say them all together unless I can say it in my head first.

14. I love water rafting but I’m scared to death the whole time that we’re in the water. My biggest fear is that I’m going to be boinged out and then I can’t get back in the raft and make a total fool of myself.

15. I HATE to ski. I went cross country with a friend when I was young and hated it I fell a bunch and got wet and cold and was miserable. Haven’t tried it again. My husband says that downhill is a blast and that I should try it but with my luck I’d break a bone so I choose to stay at home where it’s nice and warm and a lower chance of breaking any body parts… I’m sure my other 3 comments verify my aversion to breaking bones.

16. I love to read…

17. Scrapbooking is a blast. Although it’s best when I can take all my stuff out and leave it out. But with little kids it’s impossible. I tend to put off scrapping because it’s such a pain to haul everything out just to put it all back in a couple of hours.

18. One of my big dreams is to have a room specifically for scrapping and other crafty things.

19. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. I hate the idea of going back to school.

20. When I was prego with Olivia I wanted to have a v-back so I went to my parents town because it’s bigger and they do that there (not here). Well everything was great until Olivia’s cord prolapsed and then they called a code “blue” and we had an emergency c-section anyway! What’s a girl to do…

21. And speaking of c-sections… I was going for vag delivery with the twins. Lane was EASY, 2 or 3 pushes but Eliza was stubborn (nothing’s changed) and with all the shoving and pushing and trying to turn her they had to take her c-section… So I got the best of both worlds a vag birth and a c-section…

22. This one is for Debra. Joe was in the room when they did everything and he “got” to watch! He loves this stuff. He’s almost done with his nursing degree, so he’s way into all the blood and crud. Anyway after the surgery was over he was talking to me and telling me how they took all my insides out to do the clean up and suction and all that stuff. He was all excited saying, “I saw your ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and and and….” I was like okay stop I so didn’t want to know that all of my insides were laying out in the open like that! FREAKY!!!

23. Anytime I have to have dentist work or surgery like the c-section’s and stuff I’m always afraid that they aren’t going to give me enough numbing stuff and I’m going to feel what they’re doing. Not a nice feeling.

24. I had a dentist when I lived in SLC who thought that because I had braces my teeth were tough and that I wouldn’t need a shot before he filled a “tiny” cavity. I thought I was going to die! I’ll never listen to a dentist again who tells me it’s not going to hurt!

25. I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed when I was in high school. I was wide awake the whole time and still remember the cracking and tugging. Okay enough with medical stuff…

26. I hate spiders and snakes… They give me the heebeejeebee’s…

27. I love the peaceful quiet of new snow at night time or really early in the morning.

28. I don’t let my kids say stupid or shut up or any other mean names. I tried to keep them from saying butt… but I slip ALL the time so oh well…

29. When I was 21 and my little sister was 16 my parents let me take her with me to the coast for a weekend trip. I won a free hotel stay down there. The only thing I’ve ever won to date… It was such a blast.

30. I’m way to fond of some of the new series that have come out this season like Grey’s Anatomy, ER, Chuck, Journey Man and Private Practice…

31. House work is my nemesis.

32. With every pregnancy I’m scared to death something bad is going to happen.

33. I had a dream once that Joe bought a brand new crew cab pickup without talking to me about it and I woke up mad as heck at him. I had a hard time talking myself out of being mad at him.

34. I have a separate hard drive just for all my digi scrapbooking stuff and then the regular c drive for everything else!

35. I get migraines. Out of the blue I’ll start seeing a halo of light and then within 10 minutes I’ll have a full on migraine.

36. I love to play the piano.

37. I played the clarinet from the 6th grade until I graduated. I played in the jazz band and marching band. We didn’t have a choice with the marching band. But Jazz band was fun.

38. Loved playing in the band at the football games they were so much fun.

39. I’m a middle child with my sister.

40. My mom had all 6 of us within 8 years. I don’t know how she did it.

41. I can’t stand taking a HOT shower unless I’m FREEZING and then I crank it up as hot as I can.

42. I met my husband at a singles ward FHE and I invited him to Shari’s where we’d hang out.

43. The next week he came with us again and we stayed after everyone else left and talked FOREVER. While we were there I invited myself to help him with a service project he was doing.

44. The next week we had our first official date. The day after that he asked me to marry him.

45. 2 months later we were married!

46. I had a metallic silvery purple 2 door Honda civic when Joe and I met. He HATED that car and never drove it by himself EVER!!!

47. The day of our reception Joe totaled his pickup and was very lucky he wasn’t hurt. Only a fat lip.

48. On our way home from our honey moon I was driving my Honda and it was late at night. We were on the mountain and coming around a corner when I hit a large rock in the middle of the road.

49. I worked at the University of Utah as a Secretary.

50. I worked at the University of Utah Surgical Assoc as a billing clerk after that! (then I got into the accident and never went back except to get my stuff when my leg was healed…

oh that was fun to read! I didn't know you play the piano. I can't believe that lady just left you there. That's horrible!
And your mom! wow, That would be scary to deliver a baby all alone.
I like your new blog. It looks good!

Super, super interesting facts....I have to throw this out there though. I think you have bad luck. ha ha. I cannot believe your mom delivered you herself. Sure beats my birth story. And the man who hit you twice? Unbelievable. Can't wait to read more.

And how could I not mention that devil woman who was too busy to help you. I would have taken her something laced with a quadruple dose of x-lax. An old man in my old ward told me once he slpped and fell flat on his back in the snow and his neighbor waved to him and told him to have a great day. And then continued on her way.

P.S. Love all your new blog designs.
