On Tuesday we started a project that was supposed to take 2 to 4 hours or so! Well we ran into some "problems" like dry rot and white rot! Yeah so not fun! Also the person who put the old windows in used tar, caulking rubber and some other kind... anyway such a pain in the rear to get apart! The window outside moulding stuff would only come off in pieces. It was insane. However after 4 plus hours of prying and pulling we FINALLY got it all off and this is what it looked like!

We had to scrape off the dry rot, replace the circled boards below and then paint the wood that had the white rot so it wouldn't spread. Luckily we were able to save those boards. The damage wasn't to bad. So now we don't have to worry about that spreading...

New window installed... It fit perfect and looks great!

The kids helping to clean up the mess.

We still need to replace the siding but other than that we're DONE!! Well not really. We still have another 4 windows the same size as this one and then 3 more small ones... Should be a blast!
Olivia took charge of the camera and took a load of pictures... This was just one of many I thought it was cute.

What a pain! I have learned to never say how long a home improvement project is going to take. Because it always takes longer then you think. Hopefully your next windows won't be such a pain in the keester! The new one looks nice! I love new windows they make such a difference.
