What do you get when you have flip flops on, walk into a mechanics shop and it's raining???
ME ON MY BUTT in front of 2 guys and a girl and there was nothing I could do about it. Slow motion... I thought I was okay for 1/2 a second and then my foot started sliding again and down I went. Can I just tell you my 31 year old out of shape body can NOT do the splits. Almost but not quite. So that just added to my humiliation!!! On top of everything else I could hardly get back up because the stinking grease/water was so freaking slick!
And why was I at the mechanics??? I had my windshield replaced last week and my wipers weren't tight enough. While I was driving to get Emma from school the passenger side wiper slipped and crashed into the driver side one, which caused the passenger side one to slide off the side of the car and get stuck. The rain never let up so luckily I was on the right side of town when it happened and the shop was only a couple of miles away.
So now I have a pair of dirty pants with a popped seam because you remember the whole splits thing... popped that zipper seam really quick! Easy fix and it could have been worse... My hamstring is now sore along with my ankle and my dignity!
Moral of the story: DON'T WEAR FLIP FLOPS WHEN IT'S RAINING!
ESPECIALLY IN A MECHANICS SHOP WHERE THERE'S TONS OF OIL!!!!

OUCH!!! you should sue them! :) I know the feeling ... it happens so fast before you know it you are on your arse! luckily nothing broke!
Oh my gosh! How awful!! That is soooo exactly something that would happen to me.
I hope you're okay.
I slipped once in McD infront of the three managers standing there looking at the front counter with a slippery when wet sign...... I wish I could have asked them for a few thousand for my dignity! hehe sorry that happened.
Man, that stinks!! Blunders like that are bad enough, but when you add an audience, that just stinks!!
Glad you didn't break something...cause you're prone to that, right??
OH NO!!!
I learned my lesson about flip flops in the rain when I was pregnant with my middle child. My ankles and feet were swollen like crazy and flip flops were about all I could wear and it was POURING, so I was rushing through the parking lot to get into the store, slid on an extra wet spot (probably had oil there or something, too) and slid about 2-3 feet, which pulled my two year old off her feet and onto the wet ground, and then while I was trying to set her back on her feet and steady myself, and sooth her sobbing self, one of my feet came out of my flip flops and I somehow managed to scrape up the tips of three of my toes and the tops of two of my toes, so then I had a screaming wet two year old and toes that were dripping blood. Ahhh, that was fun (HA!)
I'm sorry for your experience!!
Oh you poor dear!! OUCH!!!!! Hope you feel better soon! :)
Oh no! That is like one of my bad dreams!
Poor baby...that kind of thing always happens to me, too. At least you still giggle about it...you are giggling, right? :)
You know, you are living my life.
BUT, you at least had a reason to fall.
Me, I'm a klutz. First class . . .
I trip over invisible defects in the road (you know, when you trip for no reason and look down at the ground as if there was something there?), I bash things with my 12-year-old boy hips all the time (and I mean ALL THE TIME), and I am constantly hitting my head(I'm thinking there has got to be rbain damage (see, look at how I misspelled brain). Um, what was I saying???
Oh Bummer. I hate falling in front of people. The pain I can handle, the humiliation I cannot.
I am sorry yo hear you had a fall. Get better soon.
Flip flops oil and rain. Not a good combination.
Oh my! What a nightmare!
HORRIBLE! that happened to me at the gas station! not fun!
oh! that's horrible! how embarrassing! I feel bad for you. I would never want to go there again. It's so embarrassing to fall in public. Hope you don't get too big of a bruise. :(
Oh man! I ALWAYS have a fear of falling because I am a klutz and it is usually y reality!
So something that would happen to me. Sorry! I am glad you survived it though.
