Just a warning the pictures below are not the prettiest... Olivia had her eye surgery today. We had to be there at 6:20am the surgery was at 7:20 and she was done and out of the initial recovery at 8:50ish. When we went in she was asleep again. She did great through the surgery until she WOKE UP!!! She was not very happy at all. The nurse said she was NOT happy when she came out of the anesthesia. Very crabby. She slept on and off for a couple of hours we couldn't get her to drink anything so we could leave. We finally got out of there at 11:45. She was very nauseated from the anesthesia also. Now finally at 1:00 pm she is drinking some apple juice and eating some graham crackers. I just gave her some Motrin because she said her head and eyes hurt. I feel so bad for her. They said that it probably feels like she has sand in her eyes. How miserable. I can't even stand it when I get a little piece of dirt or fuzz! Poor baby!
Here she is all warm a cozy with her Christmas blanket watching Little Mermaid.

This is her right eye and it's a little worse than the left but they both look terrible. The doctor said that they'll look this way for a week or two.
She's getting a little happier here...

She's getting a little happier here...

Here she is snuggling up with her hippo that she got from the nurse. She named it Star.

Oh her poor little eye!! Glad the surgery went well though.. Most kids have a hard time coming out of the anesthesia... I know mine do. Sending fast healing wishes her way!
:)r.
Oh, bless her little heart. I hope she feels better soon. Such a brave girl today!
What did she have done, curious? And she is a trooper!?
Oh poor baby! Hope she feels better soon.
The reason I asked. Is because our one twin, they thought he had a lazy eye and vision issues, well today we took him to the eye doctor. And we are thinking, that from him being a preemie caused his issue. He as well has a torn muscle and it's very weak and is now having to undergo surgery and I have been very bothered by it today. Was hers outpatient and what exactly did they do? I am just a little nervous. My poor little guy has gone under the knife so much cause him being early, I hate to put him back under :(
I am glad all went well. Hoping all heals quickly and she feels better soon! Give her hugs and kisses for us.
(You can tell her that it looks like E&A are going to have to have surgery too - getting their tonsils out!)
I hope she feels better soon. My very best wishes to Olivia and to you too.
Poor baby, hope she gets better soon.
Holy Cow!!! What kind of surgery did she have done? That just looks sick and nasty.

Oh my! no wonder she's crabby after the anesthesia wore off. Hope she'll get well soon.

Last night was a bit better than even the night before but now I am too tired to type it.
hope Olivia sleeps ok tonight
Hope the rest of recovery is good. Aren't you glad there are good doctors to make our kids better. We are headed to Slc to get a new eye made today for my son.

Oh my goodness! Poor kid, I hope she has a speedy recovery!
Coming out of anesthesia is the worst- no wonder she was crabby. Hope her recovery goes well.
I haven't been the best at keeping up on my blog reading so I missed the why she needed to have surgery.. Glad to hear that she came through it well and is recovering.
