♥ More painting...

I started a couple of painting projects. First the hutch... It used to be a dark brown. It's covered with laminate so it was a pain in the but to paint and I still have another coat to go. I'm letting it dry really well. I thought about sanding it first but it has all these little crevices that just wouldn't work... So we'll see. I'll post another picture when it's all done!

The doors are the worst part. Tons and tons of crevices!

This is from the old house and the only picture I could find... before...

Then I painted Emma's desk. The kids had colored on it at the other house. Yeah this is after I painted it. It came right back through!

Another after shot.

But all in all it still looks much better! I might try and spot paint it with some white primer and see if that helps? We'll see!

The bright blue top doesn't look the best in her pink room but until we can pull some money together and pass this one on to Lane and get her a smaller one since her room is so small this one will have to do.

It is SO time consuming to paint furniture and get it looking good...same with cabinets. I've done a couple of beds and the cabinets in our bathroom. If I was going to live here for several more years, I'd consider putting myself through painting the kitchen cabbies...oh well.

I bet the hutch will look great when you're all done...and the desk, I just can't believe the markings came back through, wow.

Good job, though...those are big jobs!

White is a good color for girl's furniture. Great job as always, with your decorating projects

I'm excited to see how that hutch turns out! Mine is almost exactly that style and I've been toying with the idea of updating it.

Kilz spraypaint. It will cover that drawing up and you can go without painting another coat over it, if you don't feel like it.

I love white furniture! I've got some refinishing projects to do too.

Great job on your projects...again. I had to laugh because you spelled butt wrong in this post. Must be because you weren't allowed to say it as a kid :)

Isn't it amazing what a difference a little paint (and a lot of effort sometimes) can do for how you view it or how you feel?!
