♥ Christmas

This year we let the kids get each other a gift from the Dollar Tree. Instead of taking each child one at a time. Emma and I went and Emma picked out what she wanted to get for the kids and while she was doing that I grabbed enough things that the youngest 3 could give something to everyone. I have to say it worked perfect. Emma was oblivious to the fact that I was grabbing thing that would eventually be for her! She was surprised with each gift from the little kids. Well except for the headbands from Eliza because Eliza told her that's what she gave her. They haven't quite figured out the no telling part yet! They loved that they were able to give gifts to their siblings and I didn't have to walk through the Dollar Tree 4 times wandering around until they figured out what they wanted to give each other. Once we got home I divided out the gifts for each child so they wouldn't get 2 phones or whatever and then had the kids pick what they wanted to give each other... If I would have known what a big hit the cheapy little Dollar Tree gifts where I would have stuck to that and saved some money! :)
Lane & Olivia comparing phones!

Emma picked out "high" heals for Eliza and Olivia and this is Eliza's face when she saw them! Big hit!

Livvy and her phone! It scares me a little to see how much she loves the phone now... I just wonder how bad it'll be when she's a teenager!!!

And of course we had to make our traditional Overnight Carmel Ring. Actually Joe put it together this year for me so I could wrap presents. I didn't have any almonds so Joe used Macadamia nuts instead and it was SOOOO good!

And Joe baked a ham... yummy! There is still some left overs so I'm thinking about making this with it!!!
Anyway that's our Christmas in a nutshell! It was fun the kids had a blast and now I need to get the house back in order. I can't wait for the garbage truck to get here!!!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

We've done a lot of shopping in Mom's room over the years too. I usually pull out all the gift options and let them come in one by one and choose what they'd like to give. It works great, they feel like they got to choose and I can use the bargains that I pick up on the clearance aisle throughout the year.
