♥ Mom of the week award...

We went to church today as we do every Sunday after getting kids showered, dressed and hair done. This week we did messy piggy buns for Eliza. Olivia got one big messy bun. No pictures because I was trying to hurry so we could be on time for once and we were actually 10 minutes early! Joe worked last night so he got home around 8 in the morning and helped me find shoes for kid and things like that, that take FOREVER! Since it seems not matter how careful we are at putting them away after church within the following week they inevitably get lost!
Eliza and Olivia's room looks like a tornado went through it. I clean it up and get all the clothes put away just to have them tear them all back out so they can find that ONE piece of clothing that they're looking for. The worst of all is Olivia. That child gets her mind set on something and she'll tear apart the whole house until she finds it. Drives me crazy!!! After they wake up in the morning they will be cleaning their rooms while I hopefully get the rest of these dang boxes unpacked! They're driving me crazy!!!
Okay on with my story... We get home from church and it's 2:45. I make grilled cheese sandwiches while Joe warms up tomato soup. Kids get done eating at about 3:30ish and we send them to bed for a nap. I figured they would sleep for and hour or two and then be up. I lied down for a little nap too and Joe crashed really quick. I'm sure the being up for almost 24 hours helped! The next thing I know the kids are in our room and it's 7:30 at NIGHT!!! I couldn't send them back to bed even though 7:30 is their bed time... So we make some popcorn and watch Ella Enchanted. The movie is almost over and the kids say they're hungry still so they get a string cheese (FOR DINNER). Movies over we brush teeth and say prayers and they're back in bed and asleep by 10:00... How's that for great parenting!!! The worst part of all. I find out while tucking Emma into bed that she never even fell asleep. She read, then got tired of that and decided to color and then got tired of that and played with her Polly Pockets. She is going to be SO TIRED in the morning. So there is my fabulous parenting skills at their best!

sounds like you all needed the rest, and quiet time. String cheese for dinner is GREAT!

Sounds like a day that all us mom's have had at one time or another. We don't nap even if it's close to 4:00, I won't even lay Addison down. I just keep her up till 7:30 then down she goes for the night othewise we are up with the owls :)

Hope the kids aren't too tired today.

all I can do is giggle. But it made for good memories, staying up late and having string cheese for dinner.

Aww, it is okay to be this way once in a while. We are all guilty of it including myself, I'm sure. Hope your day was okay the next.

I'm sorry. I hate when days start out tough and keep that going all day long! Hope you can avoid another one of these days for a while. At least until after the holidays
