♥ Emma's battle wounds!

These are Emma's knees! They look terrible and actually worse than this the picture doesn't do it justice! She kept falling off her bike but is now getting so much better!

Even the back of her legs are bruised again not the best picture but they look horrible!

and while we're on the subject of legs... at what age do you allow your child to shave their legs??? I'm seriously at a loss... they NEED it and she's embarrassed by them but... come on she's only 9!!! Any advice would be GREAT! :)

Man those are some nice marks left from the bike. Geeze the fun I have to look forward to. Yeah I have no idea about the shaving thing, one thing I can't remember from years ago, I do remember one of my friends shaving her legs earlier then me and her parents just wouldn't let her shave past the knee until high school.

I just talked to my sister, who used to be a YW leader and she mentioned that once they were told it was inapropriate for a girl to shave her legs till she turned 12. However their stake YW president had weird things like that. The point is, YW leaders should be ready to answer your question. Or not.

I think that the saving your legs is a personal choice. I let Shantel shave at 11 and will probably let Savanna shave soon as she has just turned 11. I think I was 12, but figure if the evil period happens to come younger than 12 then that is the time to start shaving.

Without having a daughter your age I feel funny putting in my 2 cents, but I say if she is geting made fun of or embarrassed by the hair on her legs then its time to shave them, no matter how young she is. Nothing is worse than getting teased about something like that, and I had hairy legs growing up so I know personally.

On the other had, if it doesn't bother her, then she can wait til she's a litle older if you're not ready for her to start shaving yet.

Hopefully her bruises and scrapes heal fast!

I would say when going to YW but since Eliza has a that hormon thingy going on maybe Emma has just a bit of early hair growing (am I making sense?) so go a head and let her but I would do an electric so she doent cut her ankle bones all up (being so young)

DUDE!!! Poor Emma!

Remember when I fell off my bike in La Grande...Yeah, I still feel dumb about that.

Anyway...about the shaving thing...I say what Kartch said.

So sorry for the owies. Children sure are rough and tumble.
Shaving legs should be an individual choice, just teach her safety. The first time I shaved, I cut the skin all the way from the knee to the ankle.I sure was more careful after that.

The pediatrician told me my boys wouldn't be normal without all the scraps on their knees. That made me feel better. Something about summer I guess.

Not sure what to tell you about her hairy legs. If she is embarrased by it, but do you feel comfortable letting her? I'm a boy mom too you know! I'm pretty sure it was the summer after 5th grade that I started shaving my legs. GOOD LUCK!

I looked at my daughters on Sunday and thought the same thing. So maybe when they need it?
