Eliza has been wanting her hair cut for a while so I finally did it... She's thrilled!
She likes Emma's hat...
Not much is going on around here, just working a lot and then I come home and help kids with homework. Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesday Joe usually wakes up super early and makes us all breakfast and then has dinner done or is cooking it when we get home. It's been so nice! It gives me extra time to help get the kids ready for school and then myself ready. I've been in the 1st grade this week. It was much better than the first time I was in there, but was still frustrating more often than I would have liked. So many behavior issues. It gets really old after a while! I had two of my students get in a fight at recess... And today while everyone was getting finished with the end of the day procedures (getting backpacks, coats and homework folders) I had two boys decide it would be fun to rifle through the other kids bags and make a mess, throw pencils and run around.
After the first day that I wrote about before, I decided there were going to be some new rules! So the kids would get one warning and then if they didn't listen and do what they were supposed to be doing they would get a mark by their name. When recess came around I'd add up their marks and they would owe me recess time. I had one boy that owed me almost his whole recess. He ended up having 2 minutes to play by the time he "served" his time. AND in those 2 minutes he managed to get into trouble with one of the aides outside and owed her the whole next recess on the wall. You'd think they'd learn!
Anyway the majority figured it out real quick that it wasn't worth it to not listen. They weren't fond of loosing any of their recess time! It made this week much much better. Although still rough in spots. I even got to hand out several "ICU's" which they can get when I see them doing something good. Then at the end of the day we draw out several of them and they get a treat. Their favorite part of the day!
It's a long weekend and I'm so grateful! However I've been spending my whole evening doing laundry... I'm working on load 5ish now? I've lost track... and I know I still have probably 3 more loads. Not my favorite job but some one's gotta do it!
Monday I'll be teaching 2nd grade... my first time! I'm hoping it goes well and that it's better than 1st grade!

Wow! Your kids are growing so fast and are just as adorable as I remember!
the kids look so much older, I cant believe it. AND I cant believe how you can keep up with everything and work and do homework ect. YOU ROCK !
I can't believe how big your youngest are now. I guess that means my twins are big now too? I am living in denial. I actually still call them my babies at times. I guess they just seem younger than my others did at this age...
Glad you are subbing. it is good to have your own money. Bruce is subbing too. His part time job is too part time.
LOVE Eliza haircut, so cute!
Love her haircut :) So you are subbing, so much for that quiet time while the kids are in school, lol. Sounds fun though. And I'm glad you said the 3rd graders were more on task than the 1st graders. Gives me hope that my 6 year will grow up!
