Questions by Emma

Emma just lost another tooth and said, "Mom I don't believe in the tooth fairy anymore it's you isn't it?" So I said yes and told her now that she doesn't believe she doesn't get money anymore for her teeth... She was a little bummed... What's that saying, "Those who don't believe don't receive?" (I'm such a mean mom!)
Emma asked why she doesn't get allowance like other kids? I said, "Do I get paid to clean up after myself or after all of you?" She said, "Well, No." So I said, "Well then why should you get paid to clean up after yourself and help around the house?" She said, "I don't know."

she must regretted her question and thought 'I should have pretended still believe in the fairy so I can still get money'

My kids get an allowance sortof, but not for doing their regular help around the house chores. They get paid to do the awful tasks that I hate doing. And if I do it before they do, then too bad for them, no money. (Sometimes its nice to be able to pay someone $2 to clean up all the doggie doo in the backyard, I'm just saying...)

We don't pay allowance either. But if she does want to earn money maybe you could help her think of extra jobs that she doesn't normally do. She should be almost babysitting age right? She'll love that I bet!
