Yesterday on Dr. Oz he was talking a bit on home remedies and he said one of his was that if his child was complaining of an ear ache he's take a little dropper full of Peroxide and drip it in the child ear and if it fizzed up then he knew it was infected! So it helps with the diagnosing and with the healing... Olivia was complaining the night before that her ear hurt and I gave her some Motrin then she was fine so I thought I'd give the peroxide a try and it fizzed up so we know it's infected however today she hasn't complained about it at all... Seems like this one works pretty dang good. Just before Christmas she had a double ear infection so I really didn't want to have put her on antibiotics again so soon. So far so good on the peroxide though!!!
Update: Joe and Olivia went into the Dr's tonight Livvy's ear really started hurting bad... Dr says she has another bad infection so she's back on antibiotics but at least we knew she had one so it wasn't a wasted trip...

I've never heard of that trick but if it really works that would be so nice. I've gone in for what I thought was an ear infection for Ash, paid for the visit, and came home with a prescription for sugar free gum. I'm not even kidding.

I saw this too! I am a pedi nurse and have never heard of this trick but love it now. Hope she feels better soon. Sorry for the ear troubles.
oh, I'ld never heard of that. I will try that next time. learning things like this makes me miss tv.
